Fine Art Handcrafted Lighting, established in 1940, creates unique lighting designs at high artistic standards by meticulously hand crafting metal, hand-blowing glass, hand-applying exquisite finishes andd using other unique techniques and materials. Their products are not just lighting fixtures but elegant works of art, all manufactured in the USA.
We’re giving you an inside look on what it takes to create Fine Art Hand Crafted Lighting’s beautiful line of LUNEA glass.
The LUNEA collection is inspired by the naturally occurring Clear Quartz. To get the effect of colourless, transparent crystalline rock, Fine Art HL uses handcrafted glass techniques. Each LUNEA glass panel is created at Fine Art HL’s Miami Studio Art Glass facility.
Let’s go through the process step by step.
Each Lunea glass panel is individually cast.
Here, the glass panels’ molds are being filled with glass mixture.
Create the desired glass thickness.
The glass mixture is measured out to the gram to create the correct thickness. The coloration of LUNEA glass is a combination of multiple types of glass mixed together.
Time for the panels to get fired.
The panels are melted at 1500 degrees over a 48 hour cycle.

Once each panel is removed from the mold, it is then drilled, re-cut, beveled and polished to create the “unfinished finished” look.
